Whilst it would be lovely to see lots of flowers, I don't think that Kandyce would have wanted them to go to waste and she may not have known that Hospitals, Hospices and Homes are no longer allowed to accept them.
The format is for the flowers to go with the hearse to the funeral, the coffin will be taken into the Chaple with the floral tribute only, and the rest will be taken around the back of the building for viewing after the service. Thereafter they will be put into a separate area within the garden for up to a week before being removed.
The family are very happy for friends to help themselves to the flowers after the service, but are mindful that people may feel uncomfortable about this. For that reason I shall be making a donation to charity rather than sending flowers, as I feel that Kandyce would have understood and approved. Please feel free to do what you feel best.
Because Kandyce was still battling with cancer I thought that she would approve of this charity: cancerresearchuk.org
